Why Can I Do Everything...But Relax?
If you grew up in an environment where you had to be responsible early, where you had to be aware of what was going on around you, where you had to manage things that were bigger than you at the time, your body adapted to that.
You’re capable. You know how to handle things. You know how to move, how to figure things out, how to take responsibility, how to get results. If something needs to get done, you’re not confused about how to do it. You can step in, you can lead, you can make it happen.
The issue is that when there’s nothing pressing, nothing actively requiring you to perform there’s still this underlying sense of needing to anticipate…something.
This is a pattern in your nervous system which can be exposed in how you can tolerate the sensation of softness vs. How you tolerate the sensation of pain.
I’ve created a spectrum of Nervous System States for you to taste + feel into. Is this hard science? No. And it doesn’t need to be. These are textures of being. Some that you might recognize in yourself or others.
